Starting senior school: New beginnings and exciting changes

Hey everyone, it’s Jaden here! This week was a big one for me—I just had my senior school orientation day, which was interesting! Let me take you through how it went.

Settling into senior school routine
So, it was my second day of senior school, but it felt like the first proper day. Yesterday was just orientation, and today was all about getting into the routine. I got my school card, which I need to access different parts of the school. It's pretty cool because it lets me into the library, classrooms, and more. But I’ve got to be careful not to lose it, or else I’ll get into trouble!
Seeing old friends
I saw my old friends for the first time in almost two months. We were chilling and talking like we hadn’t even been apart. Honestly, it didn’t feel like a big deal—I guess we all just picked up where we left off. I thought I’d be more excited, but catching up was lovely.

New faces in school
Some new kids joined us, too. I didn’t talk to them much, but I remember being an anti-bullying ambassador in primary school, so maybe I’ll try to help them settle in. My dad says it can be challenging for new students who don’t know anyone. I’ll give them a hand if they need it—it’s always good to be nice.
Bigger and better classrooms
The classrooms in senior school are way bigger than in Year 6! Everything feels more casual too. I’m still getting used to it, but it’s a pretty good change. Yesterday, we spent most of the time filling out our timetables and getting to know our new class. Not super exciting, but it was useful.

New school food
One of the things I’m excited about is the food. Apparently, they give out snacks like cookies and juice, and there are even rumours of chicken wings! I’ll have to see if that’s true, but either way, I’m looking forward to trying it out.
Overall, it was a pretty good start to senior school. I’m still figuring out the new schedule and adjusting to the bigger environment, but I think it’s going to be a fun year.
