Spring charity fun and bowling!

Hi everyone! As you know, I’ve been sharing my adventures from the York trip collection. Creating that series was a blast, and I'm excited to do something similar again soon!
But today, let’s talk about something special that happened in March. Aside from all the fun trips and concerts, we had a major event – a charity fundraiser- a big deal for us Year 6 students.

Popcorning ideas for charity
On the last spring day, all year 6 students huddled in the library, brainstorming in groups of 3-5 to pick a simple and quick fundraising idea. We came up with loads of fun activities like Nerf gun battles, quizzes, obstacle courses, football shootouts, and even bowling. After some lively discussion, we decided to go with bowling – a simple yet fun choice!
The big day - School spirit and charity
Our bowling stall raised just £16, but what mattered most was the fun we had. Plus, it was all about raising money for Cancer Research UK, a charity chosen by us through a majority vote. It felt good to support such an important cause, even if it was with small amounts from our pockets. Although we didn’t bowl in our pyjamas, we did wear them to school on the last day of spring, which added a fun twist to the day.

Reflections and looking ahead
This experience taught me that fundraising isn’t just about the amount you raise but about participating in and contributing to something bigger. We learned a lot about organising events, and even though some activities, like dodgeball, had to be postponed to summer, it was all worthwhile.

That's it for the spring term! Stay tuned for what we've planned next and more stories from our school life.
Catch you later!
