My first gym day with Dad: Cycling, surprises, and life lessons

Today was no ordinary day. My dad and I went to the gym together for the first time, just the two of us. I’ve been with friends, but this was a memorable father-and-son adventure. We took a “Cyclone” class (yes, that’s the real name), cycled, ran on treadmills, and even spotted a fox! It was a day of learning new things and never giving up.

Cyclone class - Stormy workout!
My dad loves this class called the “Cyclone.” It’s like a storm on a bike, where you pedal with all your might! There were times I struggled, especially on those heavy “purple” stages. But even though I felt like giving up, I pushed through and stayed with it to the end. Dad says that’s the key to doing well—just keep going even when it gets tough.
Unexpected encounter – My first fox sighting
While we were cycling, something totally unexpected happened. I spotted a fox! I couldn’t believe my eyes; I’d never seen one up close. Dad and I stopped just to watch it. Seeing that fox was like spotting a little surprise in the middle of our workout.

Gym etiquette – Lessons in manners
One thing I learned today was “gym etiquette.” That’s a fancy word for manners, like sharing equipment and giving others space. It’s just like being polite at the dinner table, but you make sure not to block or bump into anyone else here. It felt good to learn something that would help me be respectful to others around me.
The big lesson - Keep going!
After all our hard work on the bike, treadmill, and cables, I felt proud. It wasn’t easy, but I did it! And Dad reminded me of something super important: Never give up. Even when things are tough, keep pushing through. It was one of those “life lessons” adults talk about, but this time, I think I got it.

Anyway, that’s my day at the gym with Dad. Would I do it again? Maybe. Just not every week! See you next time!
