Journey to Cebu
We left England on the 11th of July and arrived in Cebu on the 12th. It was a long flight, but the excitement kept me awake. Cebu is always our first stop; it feels like a second home. We stayed in Cebu for two days, and on the first day, we just relaxed at the hotel and had some yummy food. The next day was fun because I saw my cousins at a big family party. There were over 30 people there, including kids and older relatives. I even saw Ginger, the family cat! He looks the same from the inside but has changed a bit from the outside.
Adventures in Manila
After Cebu, we flew to Manila. Waking up at 3 AM was tough, but I managed to get through the early morning with a doughnut at the airport (no explanations needed, right?). Manila was awesome! We stayed there for four days and three nights. We met more family members on the first day and had lunch at a Japanese restaurant. The sushi was pretty good, although it wasn’t my favourite part.
One of the most fantastic things we did was visit a place where they’re rebuilding old Filipino buildings. We took a coach minibus and rode scooters to get there. It was like a history lesson on wheels, and I learned a lot about the different regions of the Philippines.

The return to Cebu
Returning to Cebu was a hassle because our flight got delayed by almost seven hours. We were stuck at the airport forever! But, despite the delay and jetlag, I was happy to be back in Cebu. The city is lively, and we often go to the mall, which is always fun.
Excitement for Maasin
The best part of the trip is still ahead – we’re heading to Maasin soon! Maasin is my favourite place in the Philippines. It’s quieter and feels like home. I love spending time with family there, and it’s away from all the noise and traffic of the big cities. Life in the province is slower, and that’s just perfect for me.

Shoutout to my blog team
I also want to give a big shoutout to the awesome team that helps me with my blog. They’ve done a fantastic job getting everything ready, and I appreciate all their hard work. Thank you for making my blog look great and for all the copywriting help!
Wrapping up
So, that’s a wrap on my first week in the Philippines. It’s been a mix of fun, family, and a bit of craziness with all the travel and delays. But overall, I wouldn’t trade these experiences for anything. Stay tuned for more updates from Maasin, where the real adventure begins!
