From snorkelling to surfing the web: The awesome power of the internet

Hey everyone! Last weekend, my family and I went island hopping near Panglao, and something extraordinary happened. While paddling towards Balicasag Island, the best spot for snorkelling, we started talking about how much the internet has changed our lives.

Living as internet kids
My cousin Matt, who’s 10, and I are always on our gadgets, and we can’t imagine life without the internet. It made me think about how different the world is from when my parents were kids.
We have always lived in a world where we can find out anything by Googling it, talking to anyone fast through messaging, and having all sorts of chances just a click away. We find it hard to understand how huge this change is, especially for people who remember life before everyone was online.
The internet - Connecting and expanding our world
The internet has made the world feel much smaller in a good way, allowing us to work, chat, and live the way we want, no matter where we are. It has given us the freedom to work from anywhere, stay connected with people around the globe, and access endless opportunities we might never have imagined. Whether learning new skills, exploring new interests, or connecting with others, the internet has opened our lives in ways that were once impossible. Its true power lies in how it helps us reach our potential, inspires creativity, and brings people together, making our world both smaller and more prominent at the same time.
