Exploring Maasin: Week two of my epic summer

Exploring Maasin Week two of my epic summer - J.T Dune -

Hello, everyone! It's Jaden here. My family and I spent our first week in Maasin, Southern Leyte, and I wanted to share my experiences with you.

We arrived from Cebu after a long journey from England. Maasin is very different from Cebu, and I'm excited to tell you about it!

Exploring basketball

One of the first things I did here was play basketball. Although I'm not a professional player, I had an excellent time training and playing with my dad. It was fun and a bit of a competition, even though my dad hadn’t played in over 20 years! The coach we met was pretty good, and I think he used to play for one of the regional teams.

Meeting family

I've also had the chance to meet many family members. There’s a huge age range, from little kids to elderly relatives, and getting to know everyone has been fantastic. We even spent time with family and friends, who were all very welcoming.

Savouring flavours and furry friends

The food here is amazing! I’ve tried different dishes, but my favourite is the crab. It’s delicious and something I don’t get to eat often.

There’s also a cat named Cupid, who’s quite a character. I enjoy feeding and playing with him, even though he can be a bit naughty sometimes.

Visiting the office

I visited the office and met some of the new staff members. They are pretty young and very friendly. They also help me with my blogs. We gave them gifts from England, including some Taylor Swift merchandise because one of the staff members is a big fan.

Adjusting to life in Maasin

Living in Maasin is quite lovely. We’re staying in a place up in the hills, so it’s peaceful and fresh. I wake up early to birds singing, which is different but nice. There's a lot of construction around here, and I’m curious to see what they’re building.

Upcoming plans

This weekend, we’re planning to visit another island, which should be exciting. We’ll stay there for a night or two and then return to Maasin.

Overall, it’s been a great first week. I’m looking forward to exploring more and sharing my adventures with you. A big thank you to Anna, John Mar, Angelica, Jessa and the rest of the team for helping me with my blog.
