Balancing school life and blogging

Hello, everyone! It's Jaden; today, I want to talk about something that has recently been a big part of my life—balancing school and blogging. As you might know, I've been writing a blog every week since November last year, and it's been a fantastic journey. But let me tell you, it can be pretty challenging to keep up with schoolwork and write a blog regularly. Here’s how I manage it all!

Finding time for blogging
One of the first things I had to learn was finding time for blogging. My schedule is pretty packed between school, homework, and other activities. What works best for me is setting aside specific days for writing. For example, I aim to publish my blog every Thursday. This means I usually start writing on Monday or Tuesday after school. This gives me enough time to finish my blog, proofread it, and make necessary changes.
Staying organised
Staying organised is super important. I use a planner to keep track of my school assignments and blog deadlines. This helps me see what I must do daily and ensures I don't forget anything important. Sometimes, when I have a lot of homework, I might write just a little of my blog daily. Breaking it down into smaller tasks makes it easier to handle.

Getting inspiration from school
Many of my blog ideas come from things I do at school. For instance, I wrote about my experience meeting Jane Goodall as part of a school group. I've also written about school events like the Christmas bake-off and the York trip. Using my school experiences as inspiration helps me combine learning and blogging. It also means I always have something interesting to write about.
Improving my writing skills
Blogging has helped me improve my writing skills a lot. We had to write about people like David Attenborough and Ernest Shackleton in school. Because I’ve been practising writing for my blog, I found these assignments much easier and even got good marks! My teachers and private tutor have noticed the improvement, which makes me happy.

Getting help when needed
I’m not alone in this journey. I get help from my family, teachers, and the amazing team I work with. My family always encourages me and gives me ideas. Sometimes, I feel stuck or unsure about what to write. When that happens, I talk to my parents, who help me brainstorm ideas. The copywriters and designers at my dad’s work also help make my blogs look and read better. They add pictures and proofread my writing, which is really helpful.
Looking forward to the summer
With the school holidays, I'll have even more time to write. My mom and I have planned many fun activities, like going to waterparks and spending time with family. These adventures will give me plenty of new topics to blog about. Plus, I'll have more free time to write without worrying about homework.

Rewards and personal growth
Balancing school and blogging can be challenging, but it’s also very rewarding. I’ve learned to manage my time, stay organised, and use my school experiences as inspiration. Most importantly, blogging has become a fun way to express myself and improve my writing. I’m excited to continue this journey and share more stories.
